Rascals Season Ends With Loss in Game Four
Joliet Slammers claim 2011 Frontier League Championship.

JOLIET - The Joliet Slammers scored three times in the seventh inning on Sunday to beat River City 6-5 and claim the 2011 Frontier League championship at Silver Cross Field.
The Game 4 victory gave the Slammers a 3-games-to-1 triumph in the best-of-five title series.
The Rascals, who won the crown last summer, captured the first game, but dropped three in a row.

River City dominated play during the regular season with a 68-27 mark. But the Rascals came up empty in post-season play.
The Rascals, trailing 6-4 heading into the ninth, rallied to get to within one and had the go-ahead run at the plate. But Stephen Holdren, the league MVP, grounded out to end the season.

River City pitcher Dustin Umberger gave up two earned runs and suffered the loss.
The Rascals jumped out to a 3-0 lead in fifth on a two-run hit by Chris McClendon. Joliet tied the game in the bottom of the fifth and went ahead to stay with a three-spot in the seventh.
River City took a 4-3 lead in the sixth on a run-scoring triple by Jareck West.
