Ring in the New Year at Don Emiliano's Restaurante Mexicano

If you are in the O’Fallon area, you must take some time to check out Don Emiliano’s Restaurante Mexicano, featuring the best street tacos and other traditional favorites.

Open since August, the new restaurant brings the culture and food of Mexico to O’Fallon and the owners, Gabriela and Victor Arellano, are looking forward to sharing their love of Mexican food with you.

“We have 8 different tacos,” said Victor. “It’s just stuff that everybody likes.”

It’s not exactly that simple. The menu was designed by Victor and Chef Reynaldo based on their own favorites and creations. The salsa is made in-house. Yes, there’s lengua, or beef tongue on the menu, served in a corn tortilla with cilantro and onions and the sizzling fajitas will have your mouth watering.

The meat tacos are marinated in a special house marinade that adds to the depth of flavors of the tacos, fajitas and other entrees. The vegetarian taco is inspired by the Arellanos’ want to create delicious vegan dishes for their daughter, Marcela at home and then realized how many others would love the new creations. “We wanted to be able to offer something for everybody, so we have a great vegan and vegetarian menu,” said Victor.

To drink, there’s a rotating list of seasonal aguas frescas, the housemade horchata is a favorite. Also on tap is the housemade margarita, an orange base of deliciousness and of course Mexican and American beers.

The restaurant itself offers a medium size dining room, perfect for group meetings and large parties surrounded by artwork and pictures of Emiliano Zapata.  So stop by to check it out for lunch and enjoy our delicious Queso Dip on us.
