Scattered Remains Exhibition now open at Foundry Art Centre

Award winning, artist Julie Gautier-Downes exhibits photographs at the Foundry Art Centre.

June 16th, St Charles, MO—Award winning artist Julie Gautier-Downes’ solo exhibition, Scattered Remains, opened at the Foundry Art Centre in Saint Charles, MO on June 16th. In Scattered Remains, Julie Gautier-Downes captures photographic images of abandoned homes in ghost towns in the Western United States and France. The towns pictured were abandoned for a range of reasons. However, regardless of the reason, the inhabitants were forced to leave and never look back. In photographs of these long abandoned homes, she questions what can be learned about past inhabitants through the objects left behind and the lingering marks on the land. These haunting images serve as a memorial to the lives of these long missing people. Scattered Remains will be up until July 28th.
