The Sixth Annual RUSH 5K: A Run Uniting Super Heroes
Join Bridgeway Behavioral Health and The Sparrow's Nest for a 5K and Family Event
April 6, 2016; ST. LOUIS – The Sparrow's Nest and Bridgeway Behavioral Health are joining forces for the sixth year to host the RUSH 5K. This superhero-themed, family friendly race will take place, rain or shine, along the Katy trail on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 starting at 9am in Frontier Park.
"When you think of power, there's nothing more powerful than superheroes joining forces," said Carissa Figgins, The Sparrow's Nest Founder. "This event combines the healing powers of two agencies, Bridgeway Behavioral Health and The Sparrow's Nest, and encourages local families to support both organizations with one heroic effort."
The race route is a flat, out-and-back 5K course, and also includes a one-mile kids fun run. Post race fun includes festivities fit for a hero, featuring a bounce house, DJ, face painting, and more.
"The RUSH 5K is an event for the whole family, where the children get to shine as superheroes for the day. We're expecting over 450 runners participating this year, so be sure to register early!"
The first 350 registrants will receive a t-shirt, and all registrants will receive a goody bag and post race snack with their registration fee. The kids 1 mile fun run will take place after the 5K. Fleet Feet will be on hand to professionally time runners and walkers in the 5K.
