St. Charles High Celebrates 2012 Graduating Class
St. Charles High School takes a step back as its 2012 senior class takes a step into their future.
βLet me tell you the story of a little girl who refused to sleep in her own bed,β began Emily Thompson, in her class address. Her speech would go on to illustrate the steps made by the St. Charles High School 2012 senior class to reach graduation.Β
The commencement was held in the gymnasium of May 25. Filling the bleachers were supportive family and friends.
Class president Kristin Wyninegar performed duties as master of ceremonies, and gave a quick introduction.

Addresses and honors similar to senior classman Emily Thompsonβs followed. The theme for the evening was fear of the post-graduation world. Comparing monsters under the bed to career aspects, Thompson ultimately concludes that her childhood fears were just as unfounded as the uncertainty developing in her classmates minds.Β
Social studies teacher Bill Hippe would come to the same conclusion adding that βcommunication is better than alienation.βΒ Hippe asked 2012 graduates to make an effort to reconnect with their classmates and families from time to time. His preferred method of communication is in person.

In addition to several other honors, the 2012 senior class would recognize valedictorians Andrea Haake, Hannah Slater, Gemini Parker, Haley Goebel and Timothy Butz.
Principal Jeff Walker conveyed how impressed he was with his studentβs accomplishments.
Walker has high hopes for the future requesting, βPlease continue to dream big and accomplish your goals.β
