St. Charles, Mo., Mar 21, 2017 – The Streets of St. Charles and Cullinan Properties is proud to host the 4th annual Honduran Street Party Run on March 25th. The event will offer runners a choice of three distances: a 5k, a 10k or 1 mile Fun Run. Prizes will be awarded to both male and female age group winners in the 5k and 10k.
In addition to food, drink and vendor booths from restaurants at Streets of St. Louis, The race will also feature a “Beat the Pinata” contest in which runners who beat the time of competitors dressed as pinatas will enter a drawing for special prizes. The race has hosted over 1500 runners and attendees from more than 10 states in the past three years.
All proceeds benefit Timmy’s Mountain – Just Because We Care, a St. Charles-based organization that provides food, education, clothing, shelter and basic medical care to schoolchildren in a small mountain village in Northern Honduras. In the first three years, the race has raised over $75, 000.
Event check-in will begin at 7:30am, and both the 5k and 10k run will start 8:30am. The 1mile Fun Run will follow immediately after. The event features on-course hydration stations and chipped timing with onsite results. Runners’ swag will include a t-shirt and medal. The post-race party will be held onsite after the run, and will include an award ceremony for race winners, age group winners, and beat the piñata winners.
