The Travelers Protective Association Awards Grant To Needy Individual

Illinois member receives $1,800 from Missouri agency.

The Travelers Protective Association (TPA), a fraternal benefit society, recently gave Illinois resident Eugene Fritsch the Homer T. Wilson Fund grant of $1,800 to help pay for medical and automobile bills.

The Homer T. Wilson Fund provides emergency financial aid and is designated for indigent members, widows, widowers and orphans. Fritsch has been a member of TPA for 66 years and currently serves as president of his local post.

"Mr. Fritsch came to us with a financial need, and we were more than happy to help," said TPA’s Chief Administrative Officer Albert M. Shoemaker, Jr. "He has served our association for a very long time, so we're excited to show our support when he needs it the most."

Founded in 1890, TPA’s national headquarters is located at 2041 Exchange Dr. in St. Charles, Mo. The association is licensed in 29 states and has over 26,000 members, which includes more than 17,000 members who have been a part of the organization for more than 25 years.

TPA offers fraternalism to its members, as well as participates in safety projects and community service. The association provides accident, disability and death benefits to both its members and their beneficiaries.TPA also offers the Scholarship Trust for the Hearing Impaired, which has allocated nearly $2 million to more than 4,800 recipients. The association’s involvement is on both a local and national level and has adopted the Children Have An iDentity (CHAD) sticker program as a National Safety Program.
