Today's riddle: What is full of holes but still holds water? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Owner of vehicle in fatal crash killing WashU Ph.D. student submits DNA to police, attorney says (firstalert4.com) — St. Louis police are still investigating a deadly North St. Louis crash that killed Washington University Ph.D. student Kennedy Reed, as the BMW's owner has now voluntarily given DNA to support her claim she wasn't driving. Investigators say a driver ran a stop sign at North Euclid and Martin Luther King, and the victim's legacy is being honored through a new WashU summer research scholarship.
2. St. Louis City considers demolition of fire-damaged church, home to non-profit's skate park (kmov.com) — St. Louis City is weighing demolition of the fire-damaged Sk8 Liborius church complex in the St. Louis Place neighborhood after issuing an emergency condemnation, raising big questions about the site's future. The nonprofit behind the skate park and arts center says it's determined to stay, pushing for an open-air rebuild and seeking city support instead of a teardown.
3. KAI Engineers New $114M St. Louis Airport Complex (wconline.com) — St. Louis Lambert International Airport is getting a new $114 million maintenance complex that will modernize and consolidate critical operations now scattered across nine aging buildings. The higher, flood‑safer facilities should boost snow removal, vehicle upkeep, and year‑round reliability, backed partly by federal infrastructure grants and designed for energy efficiency.
4. Cleetus McFarland Making Dirt Late Model Debut At The Dome (floracing.com) — St. Louis race fans will see YouTube star Cleetus McFarland make his Dirt Late Model debut at the Gateway Dirt Nationals, held Dec. 3–5 at The Dome at America's Center. After a promising test run, he'll pilot promoter Cody Sommer's No. 13 car and hopes for more track time before bringing his massive online following to downtown.
