Car Hits Demonstrators In St. Louis

The incident happened during a vigil for a transgender woman fatally shot by police.

ST. LOUIS, MO — A car reportedly hit several demonstrators gathering in St. Louis Wednesday night to remember a transgender woman killed by police. Although a witness said the driver gave "two middle fingers" before driving into a group of people at the vigil, police said the driver stopped, honked and tried to drive around the demonstrators, who surrounded his car, according to St. Louis Today.

Several people reportedly suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention, according to several outlets.

The vigil was held in honor of Kiwi Herring, who was fatally shot by St. Louis police on Tuesday. Police said Herring attacked officers with a knife as they responded to a report of a stabbing, according to St. Louis Today.
