Cardinals Fans Celebrate Opening Day In Saint Louis

Opening day has become a local holiday. Check out these fans dancing for joy.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Today is opening day at Busch Stadium and Cardinals fans are celebrating across the city. The first pitch is at 6:15 p.m. and the weather should be cool but clear. Gates Open at 3 p.m.

Fans should be aware of traffic issues heading downtown this afternoon. Some lanes on Interstate 64 eastbound were closed yesterday for road repair and that work may continue through today. Some streets have also been narrowed near Ballpark Village for construction.

Parking downtown will be limited, with spaces at Ballpark Village already sold out, but fans can park for free at any of 21 Metro Park and Ride lots in Missouri or across the river in Illinois and take MetroLink to the Stadium station. City officials said extra trains and extra security will be available this afternoon and tonight.
