City Of St. Louis: Department Of Health Announces Upcoming COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

Community clinics planned through July 31, 2021.

The City of St. Louis Department of Health plans several COVID-19 vaccine clinics throughout the remainder of July to assist city residents seeking to protect themselves and their families. These clinics come at a critical time, as the city’s average positivity rate has increased to 9% after reaching one of its lowest rates of 3% only four weeks ago. 

“Vaccination is a key factor in preventing a severe illness from COVID-19, especially if we want to avoid seeing a similar increase of cases in other parts of the state from happening here,” says Dr. Fredrick Echols, acting director of health for the City of St. Louis. “By increasing the number of people vaccinated, we can help the city stand out as a leader in the fight against this pandemic.”

Upcoming clinics sponsored by the City of St. Louis Department of Health include: 

“Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from COVID-19,” said Mayor Tishaura O. Jones. “Vaccination is free, and I urge St. Louisans to take advantage of these upcoming clinics.” 

Tuesday evening, the City of St. Louis Board of Aldermen passed a measure allotting $6.75 million toward public health infrastructure in the city through the American Rescue Plan Act. Funding from this portion of the ARPA will assist with COVID-19 vaccination clinics throughout the city to provide opportunities close to home for residents to receive a vaccine. 

The Department of Health is planning additional clinics and will make further announcements in the coming weeks. Clinics will also be posted to the city’s COVID-19 Vaccine Information website and the Department of Health’s Facebook page [www.facebook.com].
