Free Firewood For St. Louis Residents To Be Available Beginning Nov. 9
The firewood will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so the daily supply is not guaranteed.

Beginning Monday, November 9, 2020, the City of St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry will offer FREE firewood to City of St. Louis residents at three locations:

- Forest Park β Lower Muny Opera Parking Lot
- O'Fallon Park - North of Picnic Site #4
- Carondelet Park - Compost and Recycling location off Holly Hills Drive
All of the available wood comes from the removal of dead and/or structurally damaged and dangerous trees from City streets and parks. Wood is generally dropped at the sites in the afternoon, Monday through Friday when available. However, daily firewood supply is NOT guaranteed.
The wood from tree maintenance operations will vary in size and species when left for City residents to pick up. It is offered on a first come, first served basis. Ash wood will NOT be dropped off or available at any of the three listed locations.

Free firewood will be available until the first week of March 2021.
Commercial vehicles and trailers are strictly prohibited due to City park restrictions. Please feel free to contact the Forestry Division directly at (314) 613-7200 for more information if needed.
