Groundbreaking Held for New “VERVE Madison”

Subtext, a vertically integrated developer of multifamily and student housing nationwide, and Stevens Construction Corp., a national general contractor, hosted an official groundbreaking ceremony on November 30th for VERVE Madison, a twelve-story, 142-unit student housing community located at 506 W. Johnson Street in walking distance to the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. VERVE Madison is expected to be completed and open for leasing in fall 2024.

VERVE Madison offers a mix of one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom layouts with a total of 536 available beds. Each fully furnished unit includes private bedroom(s) and bathroom(s), high-speed internet, washer and dryer, controlled access, and designer finishes such as modern black accents, stainless steel appliances, and private terraces on select units.

DESIGN FOCUSED ON STUDENT WELL-BEING

VERVE Madison, designed by architect ESG, features 19,000 square feet of total amenity space with a wide range of luxury amenities focused on student well-being including:

This new development comes as UW–Madison fall enrollment reflects strong growth and ongoing commitment to Wisconsin families with nearly 5,700 in-state students. This fall, total enrollment reached a record-setting 49,886 students – exceeding last year's 47,932 students.

Stevens recently completed the award-winning NoVo Apartments mixed-use building in downtown Madison and, in addition to the Verve Madison, is currently building three more multifamily communities near the UW-Madison campus.
