It’s Featured Firefighter Friday in the City of Edwardsville
Meet Captain/Paramedic Rodney Hall, who has served the Edwardsville Fire Department for 22 years.

Today on Featured Firefighter Friday, the City recognizes Captain/Paramedic Rodney Hall, who is approaching 22 years of service with the Edwardsville Fire Department.
Promoted to Lieutenant in 2008 and then to Captain in February of 2021, Hall was a previous member of Edwardsville Explorer Post 1070 as a teenager, and prior to joining the Edwardsville Fire Department, he served as a volunteer firefighter in Holiday Shores and Glen Carbon. He had previously worked at Laughlin Ambulance Service, and as a career firefighter at the Melvin Price Support Center in Granite City.
“I’m very proud to be able to work for the City of Edwardsville,” Hall stated. “I always knew I wanted to be a firefighter and started testing at fire departments all over Illinois and the country at a young age. I’m glad that I was finally hired in Edwardsville, since there are many advantages to working for the City where I lived and grew up.”
