The Journey Hires New Lead Pastor of Hanley Road Location
The Journey welcomes new Lead Pastor Carlos Smith to Hanley Road congregation.
The Journey has hired Carlos Smith, former Associate Pastor of Christian Life Enrichment and Student Ministries at First Baptist Church of Chesterfield, as the new lead pastor of The Journey Hanley Road location.
Prior to joining The Journey staff, Smith served at First Baptist Church of Chesterfield beginning in 2010, where he oversaw the Pre-K through young adult Christian education program at the church, in addition to working directly with high school students and young adults in various ministries.
Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Indiana University-Fort Wayne, a master of divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his PhD at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

“I’m excited about being a part of the direction of The Journey and the church’s new mission and vision,” says Smith. “I’m thrilled to be entering into the story of The Journey Hanley Road and the history of this congregation.
