In Memory of Patrick J McNulty

Patrick Joseph McNulty, 80, passed away on August 11, 2026, at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. He is survived by his two sisters, Leigh and Maripat; his two children, Erin and Megan; and his four grandchildren, Bodhi, Sam, Maeko, and Lily.

Patrick was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 31, 1945, to his parents, Joseph and Veronica McNulty. He was a dedicated union pipefitter who spent many years working diligently and making lifelong friends along the way. Patrick also spent time in Viet Nam, serving in the Army. His longest occupation, however, was honing his craft as an expert prankster. Spanning time, space, and levels of tact, he brought his craft to the highest heights. He specialized in fart jokes and targeted the many people he loved.

Amongst his other passions was his love of helping people. He has literally given the shirt off his back, and worked on countless home projects. A more loyal friend you will never find. Those who knew him will remember his generous spirit and comical presence.

One of the last things Patrick said was, “I love everybody.” Although he usually delivered that message as a prank, that sentiment was well known to all who knew and loved him. It was simply who Patrick was. He cared about people and usually found a way to make them laugh. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Moose Lodge in Wilmington, IL at 32050 W. River Road on November 1, 2026 at 2pm.
