Missouri Promenaders Square Dance Club will Swing at the Overland Farmers Market on September 1

Overland, Missouri…The popular Missouri Promenaders Square Dance Club will give a special exhibition at the Overland Farmers Market on Saturday, September 1 starting at 9 a.m.

“Ten dancers from the Missouri Promenaders will appear at the Overland Farmers Market that morning to introduce people to square dancing and show how much fun it is,” said Richard Kilzer, market master.

The Missouri Promenaders are members of the Missouri Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs and the St. Louis Metro Square and Round Dance Association. The Promenaders frequently strut their stuff at churches and family gatherings in greater St. Louis.

The Market will offer plenty of fresh, locally produced vegetables, organic beef, bakery products, fresh eggs, arts & crafts and live music. It will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 pm at 2512 Woodson Road near Erickson Plaza, about one mile north of Page Avenue.

“The Two Of Us Band” will perform live music from 10 a.m. to noon.

“We’re known for fresh, local produce, home-made bakery goods, hot sandwiches and merchandise you can’t find anywhere else,” said Kilzer, who is president of the Overland Farmers Market Board of Directors.

“We provide live music from different musicians every Saturday – folk, rock, gospel or bluegrass,” Kilzer said. “Our Market is like a friendly neighborhood party,” he added.

“Our covered pavilion with 24 covered stalls makes our market more accommodating for visitors and vendors.”

The Overland Farmers Market is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization managed by volunteers and supported by sponsors including individuals, merchants and the City of Overland. Admission is free.
