Non-profit Group Provides Free Loans of Home Medical Equipment to Anyone

Every year, our nonprofit agency helps more than 6,000 people and their caregivers by loaning them – for free – the home medical equipment they desperately need.

If you or your loved ones need home health equipment when suffering from illness, injury or disability, we can help you.

We loan manual and electric wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, crutches, canes, hospital beds, portable commodes, elevated toilet seats, lift chairs -- and more – at no charge.

The volunteers and staff at our lending warehouse in Olivette help hundreds of people every month.

Our lending warehouse is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For free loans of home health equipment or to donate used home health equipment to St. Louis HELP, call 314 567-4700.

We conduct equipment donation drives twice a year to collect our inventory. This totals about 11,000 items of equipment collected annually. We sanitize and revitalize it all at our warehouse. Good parts of broken equipment are used for repairs.

Every year, we divert about 140 tons from landfills by cleaning, reconditioning and loaning those items.

Many people suffering from illness, injury or a disability don’t have the health equipment they need because they can’t afford it or Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance won’t cover the cost.
