Rainbow Village Announces Record Breaking Funds Donated
Celebrating Turning Houses into Homes for People with Developmental Disabilities for More than 40 Years

Rainbow Village’s 23rd annual “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” Gala raised a record $310,000 in funds and hosted 386 guests during a night full of celebration. The event was held on Friday, April 12, 2019, at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac. Event sponsors included Emerson, the event’s top Adopt-A-Home Sponsor at the $25,000 level, as well as Mastercard at the $15,000 Presenting Sponsor level. All proceeds benefit Rainbow Village’s Healthy Home Initiative which works to increase the number of affordable, accessible, well-maintained homes that will enhance the quality of their lives, integrate them into communities, and reduce the number of those on the wait list in the St. Louis metropolitan area through annual new home purchases for residents, accessibility modifications, and high-quality maintenance and updates of existing homes.
Beyond sponsorships and auction funds raised at the gala, Jo Ann Parker of Knoxville, Tennessee contributed $100,000 in honor of Nancy Parker Tice, this year’s Rainbow Village Humanitarian Award Recipient. Nancy is a second-generation supporter as her father-in-law, Norm Tice, is one of Rainbow Village’s founders.
The evening celebrated the unprecedented growth Rainbow Village has been able to achieve due to unwavering community support and individual contributions. For more than 40 years, these charitable acts have helped the organization provide 88 homes to 300 residents with developmental disabilities in 26 neighborhoods throughout the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan area.
