Rainbow Village Receives $175,000 From The Orthwein Foundation

The William R. Orthwein, Jr. and Laura Rand Orthwein Foundation Donate Life Changing Gifts

Rainbow Village is pleased to announce it has been awarded a total of $175,000 in grants from the William R. Orthwein Jr. and Laura Rand Orthwein Foundation. A $25,000 grant will provide a permanent, accessible housing for individuals with developmental disabilities, and $150,000 will provide vital renovations and accessibility updates to Rainbow Village’s Wolff Community Center.

“We are deeply appreciative of the Orthwein Foundation’s generosity, and their commitment to individuals with developmental disabilities in our community,” said Michael Rea, Rainbow Village Executive Director.

The Orthwein Foundation has been providing support to Rainbow Village for over 14 years and directly supported the addition of 10 neighborhood homes to the charities portfolio.

“We are also profoundly grateful for the transformational gift that will enable us to provide a safe, inclusive, community center space where people of all abilities can access health and well-being programs, as well as life changing therapy.” added Rea.

Rainbow Village is the largest non-profit provider of long-term, affordable and quality neighborhood homes for people with developmental disabilities in the St. Louis area. The organization maintains 88 homes, in 27 zip codes throughout the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area and Jefferson County.
