Today Last Day To Register To Vote In Time For MO Aug. 7 Primary

Find out how to register here. It only takes a few minutes.

MISSOURI — Today is the last day to register to vote if you want to participate in the August 7 primary in Missouri. Several important elections, including the Democratic primary for St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney and a referendum on a controversial "right-to-work" law will be on the ballot.

Many districts in Missouri and around the country are increasingly gerrymandered to such an extent that one party or the other is almost certain to win. Which one depends on the district. In St. Louis, that's usually the Democratic Party. In the western part of the state, it's the Republicans. So, primary elections are becoming more and more important to a healthy democracy, experts say.

You can check your registration status and find your polling place here. If you're going to be out of state, be sure to request an absentee ballot by August 1.
