St Louis Homeschool Missions Fair is a special evening we hope your entire family will enjoy and remember. The goal of the Missions Fair is to keep the Great Commission before us and our children, remembering the needs of the unreached, and those who are reaching them.
The Fair will include:
International pot-luck meal
Table displays
(Optional) Oral presentations
Missions Prayer time
Missionary songs
Certificates of participation
The Missions Fair is designed to be an event that families can prepare for at home, with no outside meetings other than the actual fair. It is hoped that this evening will complement what you are already doing as a family, not add extra busywork. All ages are welcome!
How it works:
Each family will select either a country or a people group when they sign up. There are up to three ways to participate:
Table display. Every family should prepare a table display, simple or detailed, depending on your children’s abilities. Display may include:
Maps, photos
Prayer needs
Current missionary events/news
Demographic information
Recommended resources (books, DVDs)
History of involved missions
International dish. The fair will begin with a potluck dinner, featuring international foods. Each family will bring an authentic (or nearly authentic) dish related to their country/people group. Each dish should be accompanied with a label with country, name of dish, and a list of all ingredients.
Oral Presentation (optional). The presentation (about 5 minutes) may be based on your table display, or additional information you would like to share. Your entire family is welcome to participate at the level you determine appropriate. There will be no competition or judging.
