Board of Aldermen to Discuss Interchange Improvements at Thursday Meeting

Board of Aldermen will meet at the Justice Center at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the second meeting in May.

The St. Peters Board of Aldermen will be back in action Thursday, May 26 at the Justice Center in St. Peters.

For the second time in May, the Board will meet to discuss city issues. The Board will conduct a work session at 5 p.m. The regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

During the work session, the Board will hear from lobbyist Nikki Strong about the recent legislative session in Jefferson City.

Other items on the work session agenda include:

  • The Board will discuss a cost-share agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission and St. Charles County for interchange improvements at Interstate 70 and Mid Rivers Mall Drive and I-70 and Highway 79. The city will pay only $208,500 of the multi-million tab if the Board approves the measure.
  • A citywide traffic coordination study will be discussed. The Board will debate the merits of a $225,000 project to improve traffic flow throughout St. Peters.
  • The Board will also hear about building code changes.

Following the work session, the Board will have its regular meeting at 7 p.m. If things proceed as planned at the work session, the Board will vote on the interchange improvements.

Other items of interest at the meeting include:

  • The Board will vote if the city should use funds from the Natatorium Foundation to replace a filter system at the Rec-Plex pool.
  • Β Mayor Len Pagano will make appointments to the St. Peters Youth Leadership Council, the Senior Advisory Committee, the Green Environmental and Solid Waste Issues Advisory Committee and the Outpatient Sugrical Treatment Center Medical Review Board.Β 
  • The Board will vote on 17 total bills.
