COMMUNITY LIVING, INC. TO HOST QUARTER AUCTION & SHOPPING EXTRAVAGANZA
Nov. 15th event will raise funds to support CLI's work to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Community Living, Inc., is inviting local residents to come tackle some of their holiday shopping on Nov. 15, as the organization hosts its 2nd annual Quarter Auction & Shopping Extravaganza. The popular event will take place at the VFW Post 2866, located at 66 VFW Lane in St. Charles, Mo. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the auction will start at 7. All proceeds will benefit CLIβs programs and services for people with disabilities inΒ St. Charles County.
The event will give individuals the chance to bid on a variety of items using quarters. To bid, each guest will be required to purchase a numbered paddle for $10, with additional paddles available for $2 each. The items up for bid will be on display, and an auctioneer will provide brief descriptions of the items, along with information on the itemsβ retail value and the number of quarters needed to bid on the items. All bidding is based on an itemβs retail value. When itβs time to bid, guests are asked to provide their quarters to event volunteers and hold up their numbered paddles. Once all quarter bids are collected, the auctioneer draws a numbered chip. If the guest with the matching paddle number placed a bid, he or she wins the item. If that person did not place a bid, the auctioneer will draw until there is a winner.
βCLIβs Quarter Auction & Shopping Extravaganza is a fun night out that not only benefits CLI, but also supports local businesses,β said CLI support services staff member and 2013 event vendor Raquel Slade. βParticipants have the chance to win awesome items from great St. Charles area vendors, while helping to generate critical funds to assist CLI in its work to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities in St. Charles County.β
