I spend most of my time at home in the kitchen. Making breakfast, packing lunches, fixing dinner, fetching snacks, hiding with a box of Thin Mints in the pantry … so you may think I’m a little off my rocker when I suggest an escape that involves, ahem, cooking in a kitchen.
But that’s just what I’m going to do.
Dierbergs has a wide variety of cooking classes that anyone will enjoy. There are theme nights such as Couples Cook, Girl’s Night Out, Mushroom Mania, and Seafood Sensations. The Couples Cook class coming up in April at the Bogey Hills Dierbergs is the Paris Bistro dinner. French cuisine is the epitome of the romantic date—ooh la la!

Also in April, the Just 5 Ingredients class will show you how to create four meals with chicken, using only, you guessed it, five ingredients per meal.
The Girl’s Night Out Class is offered at the Dierbergs in Edwardsville, Southroads, and West Oak throughout April. You can gather up some of your gal pals and whip up some fun appetizers you can make for your next get-together. Some examples of the appetizers you’ll make are Savory Sausage Bites, Quick Apple Strudel Cups, and Mexican Mini Tarts.

After a long, hectic week with the kids and a husband who is away on business, this mommy likes, no needs, to get her drink on. Would you believe there are classes for that too? The Anheuser Busch Tasting Dinner shows you how to pair beer with a delicious recipe menu. Wines for Spring Sipping will allow you to sample great wines for the spring season. A friend of mine once said, “Sometimes I just need a little ‘Mommy Juice’ to get through the day.” Amen, sister.
You can grab a free copy of the 2011 Spring Class Schedule at your local Dierbergs along with their free “everybody COOKS” magazine which includes many tasty recipes to try at home. Bon appetite!
