I-70 Down to One Lane Near Florissant
MoDOT urges drivers heading downtown to avoid taking Interstate 70.

Two lanes are closed on eastbound Interstate 70 between Shreve and West Florissant in downtown St. Louis this evening. Only one lane on the interstate will remain open for Monday morning's commute. These closures are necessary so emergency crews can perform repairs a sewer line collapse. The entrance ramp to eastbound I-70 from Shreve/Bircher also remains closed.
MoDOT strongly urges motorists to avoid eastbound I-70 into downtown during Monday morning's commute because there will be traffic back-ups.Β Motorists can detour around the city by using I-270.
A large sewer line collapse occurred at approximately 3 a.m., Sunday morning. MoDOT and emergency crews have been evaluating the pavement damage on the interstate today.
