Local Mud Run Makes Donation To The BackStoppers

Fifth bi-annual race raises $5,000 for organization

The Battlegrounds at Cedar Lake, the Midwest’s only permanent mud run obstacle course, recently held its fifth bi-annual race and raised $5,000 for The BackStoppers.

The BackStoppers is a non-profit organization founded in 1959 to support the families of fallen heroes in the greater St. Louis region. The group uses their funding to emotionally and financially assist families of police, firefighters and EMS/EMT personnel that are dealing with the loss of their first responder.

β€œWe are truly excited that our fund raising efforts benefitted such a vital organization,” said Carl Bolm, owner of The Battlegrounds and Cedar Lake Cellars winery and event venue. β€œEveryone, including the 1,300 mud runners and The BackStoppers, was a winner in terms of having a fun time while supporting a worthwhile cause.”
