Meet Picture Book Author & Illustrator Peter Brown

Picture Book Author &
Illustrator Peter Brown will present a special free program for families at
the Spencer Road Branch Library at 6:00 pm.  He will talk about his newest
book, Mr. Tiger Goes Wild and draw for program participants.  Brown was honored last year with a Caldecott Medal Honor Award for his
book Creepy Carrots.  The Caldecott Medal is a national award
chosen by the American Library Association and presented to the best
illustrated book published in the United States.   More favorite
books by Peter Brown include:  You Will Be My Friend, Children
Make Terrible Pets
and Chowder.  His book The Curious Garden
is currently featured in a Picture Book Storybook Walk at Quail Ridge Park
in Wentzville.  Walk about a mile along the lake trail and read the book
page by page.  Books will be available for sale at the September 5
program and autographed by the author.  It's a perfect opportunity to
pick up a special gift for a child in your family or teacher or childcare
provider.  This is a great opportunity to see a nationally recognized
children's book illustrator and hear about his books.  Bring the whole
family for a wonderful evening.
