Monsanto Announces Community Contest Winners
St. Peters Act II Community Theater takes second place.
Over the summer, Creve Coeur-based announced plans for the. Non-profit organizations were invited to submit nominations for the prizes, in the amounts of $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000 to be awarded after an online competition which ended earlier this month.
Monday, the winners were announced on the St. Louis Grown website.
First Place: Stray Rescue of St. Louis: $15,000 will be used to complete a shelter renovation and then go towards a fund to pay for medical expenses and supplies.

Second Place: Act II Community Theater: $10,000 will help the St. Peters-based organization with costumes and design.
Third Place: Mascoutah Little Indians Youth Football: $5,000 will help the league build its own field on land already set aside in Mascoutah, Illinois.

According to Monday's announcement, a second round of competition for Grow St. Louis will launch later this year.
