Overnight Storms Bring Rain, Damage to St. Peters

KMOX reports a tree was blown into a house in St. Peters.

Early-morning storms brought plenty of rain, plenty of lightning and plenty of wind.

While many in St. Peters were trying to sleep, powerful storms ripped through St. Charles County and St. Peters. High winds, heavy rain and an impressive lightning show brought damage to the area. KMOX reports a tree fell on a house in St. Peters, but there no reports of injuries.Β 

Many St. Peters residents, like those living in the Vanderbilt Apartments on Mexico Road and Spencer Road, woke up to tree limbs on the ground and leaves scattered about the lawn. KMOX reports an inch of rain fell in a 15 minute period.

The St. Louis Post-DispatchΒ reportedΒ lighting, which iluminated the sky with presistent strikes, was responsible for three fires in St. Peters.Β 

Ameren's website showed that 52 of the 28,000 customers in the 63376 area code were without power at 7:50 a.m.
