Rascals Report: River City Sets, Extends Franchise Record for Wins

The River City Rascals have a franchise record 59 wins with 13 games left in the season.

For the third straight year, the River City Rascals have set a franchise record for wins.

After winning 56 times in 2009 and 57 times in 2010, the Rascals picked up win No. 58 on Friday. With a win on Saturday, the Rascals now have 59 wins with 13 games left in the regular season. 

The Rascals continue to lead the Frontier League with a 59-23 record. River City also has a 7.5 game lead on the Southern Illinois Miners in the West Division.

Looking Back

Once again the Rascals put up a winning week. River City went 4-2 in the last six games, clinching a playoff spot in the process. 

  • Sunday, Aug. 14: For the first time all season, the Rascals were swept, losing to Joliet 4-1.
  • Monday, Aug. 15: Off.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 16: River City rebounded with a 6-4 win against Normal to . 
  • Wednesday, Aug. 17: Normal beat the Rascals 9-3.
  • Thursday, Aug. 18: The Rascals got back to winning with a 4-2 win against the Normal CornBelters to pick up the series win.
  • Friday, Aug. 19: The with River City pounding the Evansville Otters 13-3.
  • Saturday, Aug. 20: River City's bats remained hot with the Rascals winning 14-6.

The Rascals will hit the road again this week. River City will finish its home stand on Sunday before embarking on a six-game road trip.
