St. Peters Rec-Plex to Host Fitness Fest May 21

Rec-Plex will be open for free and have special deals for new members.

The St. Peters Rec-Plex will be opening its doors to the public on Saturday.Β 

Fitness Fest begins runs from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, and will give a chance to curious residents to check out the Rec-Plex for free. That's right, free. The Rec-Plex will have swimming, ice skating, basketball, volleyball, access to fitness equipment and more open to the public.Β 

During Fitness Fest, vistiors to the Rec-Plex will have a chance to not only get a free tour, but alos a free month of membership. The Rec-Plex is offering a baker's dozen deal where customers can get a 13-month membership for the price of 12. Also, the Rec-Plex will be offering the Summer Sizzler deal which gives any new member access to the three outdoor pools in St. Peters. The pools open on May 28, 2011 and close on Sept 5, 2011.Β Both of these deals are good for new annual Rec-Plex members and new GOLD PLUS members.

For families who want to check out the Rec-Plex on a β€œtrial basis,” Fitness Fest also offers a chance to purchase aΒ Family Quick Start PassΒ which is good for three months.Β 

Rec-Plex membership is open to all area residents, both in and outside of St. Peters. St. Peters resident rates are the lowest. Through a parks agreement with the City of St. Charles, St. Charles residents with a St. Charles Parks Passport can also sign up for Rec-Plex annual and GOLD PLUS memberships at the lower resident rates. In return, St. Peters residents with Resident Privilege Cards get special rates at St. Charles outdoor pools.

Here is a schedule of facilities open to the public during Fitness Fest:

  • Swimming, noon-3 p.m.
  • Ice skating,12:30-3 p.m.
  • Volleyball, 9 a.m.-noon
  • Basketball, noon-3 p.m.
  • Fitness areas (cardio, strength training and indoor track), 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Throughout the day during Fitness Fest, visitors can choose from a number of feww group fitness classes such as aerobics, RPX Cycling and Kettlebell. Aerobics classes will include a variety of adult classes as well as classes suited for children and their parents.
