Wal-Mart Pulling Enfamil Formula After Death of Missouri Baby
The St. Peters location joins more than 3,000 Wal-Mart stores nationwide as part of the voluntary action.

AΒ Lebanon, MO,Β pulled its stock of Enfamil Newborn formula after a 10-day-old baby died Sunday.
TheΒ Lebanon Daily RecordΒ reportsΒ Avery Cornett's family took him to a local hospital when he showed signs of lethargy and stomach discomfort. According to the newspaper,Β tests showed Avery had contracted a rare bacteria which can be found in contaminated infant formula.

TheΒ Food and Drug AdministrationΒ has not issued an official recall of the product, which isΒ formulated for babies up to three months old.Β
A report in theΒ Washington PostΒ quotesΒ Wal-Mart spokeswoman Dianna Gee, who said the company decided to pull the lot βout of an abundance of cautionβ while health officials further investigate Sundayβs death.

- Wash hands with soap and water.
- Sterilize feeding equipment in hot soapy water.
