Were You There To Celebrate Al Ukman's 90th Birthday? The Mid-East Area Agency on Agency (MEAAA) and its Foundation Board hosted a reception with family, friends and colleagues of Al Ukman to celebrate his 90th birthday and to recognize his decades of extraordinary volunteer contributions to St. Louis area seniors on September 20 at Delmar Gardens-Chesterfield. According to MEAAA Executive Director Mary Schaefer, "Over the years, Al has been one of the MEAAA Foundation’s most active volunteers especially in connection with a "Supply Bank for Senior Independence" and having served as secretary for the Foundation Board. In addition, Al was personally responsible for raising over $40,000 in 3 years for the Foundation, through a one-man letter-writing campaign!"  

The Mid-East Area Agency on Aging provides supportive services to persons age 60 and older, family care-givers and adults with disabilities in St. Louis, St. Charles, Franklin and Jefferson Counties.
