The junior said his key to being effective in his position is “being patient.”

Womack said the big key to the win over East was a high level of intensity. He felt his team displayed a lot of intensity from the start.

“We started off strong and as soon as we got the first goal we kept pounding and pounding,” Womack said.

The forward/midfielder began playing with South three years ago and he started playing varsity last year. He said he struggled with a size disadvantage last year.

“It was a little nerve racking,” Womack said. “I was small and always got knocked around.   As the season went on I started to play like I was not so nervous. Since then I’ve tried to play really simple.”

Womack said next year he wanted “to start every game and never come out.” He wants to continue to play soccer in college but is undecided on what school he would like to attend.

The junior began playing recreational soccer at the age of 6. He moved up to select soccer in the fourth grade when he started playing with the Arnold based Busch select soccer club.
