American Water Replaces Old Water Lines in Sunset Hills
A Sunset Hills water line dates back 80 years.

American Water, a utility company, announced this week in a press release that crews will begin replacing old water lines in several South County municipalities, including Sunset Hills.
Drivers in Sunset Hills may experience some closures of the Westbound lane of Denny Road, as crews will work on an 80-year old, six-inch diameter water line and replace it with 2,700 feet
of eight-inch diameter pipe along Denny Road between Sappington Road and Lindbergh
Blvd. American Water expects to finish the project in mid-July.
American Water will also work on Bella Villa and Affton, which also have aging water lines.
According to their release, American Water engineers selected the replacement projects based on their community benefits, which include reducing water main breaks and improving the overall integrity of the water system in the area. Missouri American Water is responsible for approximately 4,200 miles of water mains in St. Louis County.
