Crestwood Aldermen to Take Second Look at Fitness Center Plan
Sunset Hills board of aldermen agenda includes request for an open house at the Family Pet Hospital in meeting tonight.

At the last Board of Aldermen meeting in Crestwood, there was a lengthy one hour and 20 minute discussion regarding the implementation of 24-hour Anytime Fitness at 343 Watson Plaza. Discussion arose over the safety of an unstaffed 24-hour gym facility. Tonight is the second reading regarding this hot topic.
New business includes an ordinance approving the compensation and other employment terms for City Administrator Petree Eastman, and waiving the residency requirement as provided for in the municipal code. Eastman is a resident of University City. Look for a Q&A with Eastman in the upcoming weeks.
Over in Sunset Hills, the agenda begins with a request from Family Pet Hospital to hold an open house on Oct. 22. There will be a second reading of Bill No. 17, an ordinance establishing a new salary for the city collector at the time of election or re-election in April, 2012. Bill No, 12, an ordinance amending Sec. 8-3 of the city code relative to wards of the city by redefining wards III and IV also will be read.

Ken Conley is expected to be appointed to a 2-year term on the finance committee, replacing Kerry Borawski.
