Meet One of Crestwood Elementary's Newest Teachers

Name: Karen Luning

New position: Crestwood Elementary

Professional background: 6 years teaching fourth grade and reading in Hazelwood School District, and most recently a reading intervention specialist for Parkway School District in 2011-12.

What's your most prized possession on your desk, in your office or workspace? A picture of my two boys

Favorite year of school as a student: Fifth grade. My teacher was so caring and patient. She made me feel successful and confident.

Favorite movie that takes place at a school: “Lean on Me”

Favorite non-required reading: John Grisham
