Mid-May Vehicle Tamperings Explained
Sunset Hills Police Department incident reports shed light on recent property destruction calls from local hotel parking lots.

A recent police blotter revealed that on May 17, four calls were made from local hotels. Two calls came from the . Another call came from the parking lot and the last one was from the .
The first call came in at 7:43 a.m. from the Hampton Inn on Lindbergh Boulevard. The victim's vehicle was a 2012 black Chevy Impala, a rental car from Enterprise. The car window had been destroyed, leaving approximately $200 in property damage.
Later that morning at 8:01, police responded to a call regarding a 2009 white Ford Taurus, also in the Hampton Inn parking lot. That car window also had been destroyed and a pair of Oakley sunglasses worth approximately $100 had been stolen.Â

Police responded to a call at the Holiday Inn/Mile 277 parking lot at 7:40 a.m., regarding another vehicle tampering. This time it was a black 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix. The door had an approximate 2 cm. hole under it with damage approximated at $300. The window frame was bent with a pry tool and a window had been shattered. The victim's radar detector was stolen, a value of $100.Â
The Days Inn case is still an open investigation.Â
