Parent Groups Support Lindbergh Schools with $711,099 Worth of Donations

Groups have provided more than $2.6 million since 2005-06.

Lindbergh School District parents came through in a big way in 2010-11. With volunteering, committee service and fundraising, parent groups gave $711,099 worth of donations to Lindbergh schools in the last year. Since 2005, parent groups have provided more than $2.6 million in funds.

“Our parent organizations’ donations and volunteer efforts over the years have been very important in providing the best possible education and programming to the students of Lindbergh Schools,” said Dr. Vic Lenz, board president, in a statement. “We appreciate everything our parents do to support students.”

In 2010-11, the LHS Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band traveled to the Tournament of Roses Parade, which accounts for the significant increase in fundraising over previous years. A detailed report of parent organization contributions was presented to the Board of Education Jan. 10, showing significant funding for student scholarships, teacher and program grants, student recognitions and awards, equipment and uniforms for extracurricular groups, and school parties and events.
