Prohibition Fest Hits Schlafly Brewery then It's Eats Galore

Start working up your appetites now. This Sunday, the Kirkwood Community Center hosts its 8th annual Taste of Webster-Kirkwood from 5:30 - 8 p.m. During this time, attendees will be able to learn a bit more about their community as they sample tasty bites from local restaurants.

Some of the neighborhood's finest dining establishments will be represented at the event; Big Bear Grill, Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, Highway 61 Roadhouse, and Pi are just a few of the businesses that will be in attendance.

In addition to delicious samples, residents will also be able to participate in a silent auction, whose proceeds will benefit the Shepherd's Center of Webster-Kirkwood; this interfaith volunteer organization provides programs and services for older adults.

Tickets for the event are $35 in advance and $40 at the door, and can be purchased in person at the Kirkwood Community Center. 

While you wait for Sunday to arrive for eating, get your beer mugs ready on Saturday.

Maplewood's Schlafly Bottleworks celebrates the end of prohibition with an outdoor beer festival that is sure to please just about everyone. From Noon until 5 p.m., attendees will be able to sample over 30 different types of beer; with a selection like this, there is certainly something for every beer connoisseur to enjoy.   

For the Repeal of Prohibition Fest, tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the event, and include a commemorative tasting glass, unlimited beer tastings, and live music from Swing DeVille. Food will also be available for an additional cost; you'll certainly want something to pair with your ice cold beer!
