St. Louis Publications Honor Logistics Firm Sunset Transportation with "Top Workplaces" and "Fastest-Growing Company" Awards

June 29, 2016 - ST. LOUIS, MO – Sunset Transportation, Inc., a freight payment and third party logistics (3PL) provider, recently earned two awards for its successful three-year, double-digit growth trend in sales, job creation and branch expansion. The St. Louis Business Journal placed Sunset in the top 50 “Fastest-Growing Private Companies” list while the St. Louis Post-Dispatch ranked the logistics leader among the “Top Workplaces” for the second consecutive year.

Each year, the St. Louis Business Journal recognizes private, locally-owned businesses that have the most accelerated growth in the past three-year fiscal cycle. For the first time, Sunset Transportation earned this distinction, ranking in the top 50 companies and reporting a 35% increase in both revenue and personnel between 2013-2015.

Within that same timeframe, the national logistics leader also opened or expanded six branch offices across the country, including an expanded branch in Nashville in July 2016 and the new Sunset Financial Services office in St. Louis. In addition, the company hired 21 new employees in 2015 and has plans to hire 12 more in multiple locations this year.

In February, the St. Louis Business Journal also interviewed Vice President of Operations Lindsey Graves in a business feature on Sunset’s new branch offices and company expansion.
