A word to the wise- If you have jumped the gun and have already placed some tender annuals in the ground, tonight might be a good time to cover them up.Â
It's as easy as placing a frost blanket (a sheet does well, too!) and use some old clay pots or bricks to make sure the covering isn't "Gone with the Wind!"Â
If you have purchased plants but not planted them yet, put them in the garage, close together, or under a covered patio. As an added insurance policy, place a sheet over the group of plants as well.Â

If you only have a few plants in the ground, you can protect them by placing a clay pot, overturned, over the plants. An overturned trash can with a brick on top of it protects larger plants.Â
With temps predicted in the low 30's for the next 2 nights, it's best to err on the side of caution! Oh, and don't forget to remove all the coverings the next morning!
