Kennedy Catholic High School hosted the Annual Celt-A-Bration Auction on Saturday, November 12, 2011. The sell-out crowd packed the Marriott West ballroom and raised paddles time and again to support the students of Kennedy Catholic. It was a record night in a number of ways, but the spirited Live Auction proved to be a great precursor for Fund A Need; supporting the first science lab renovation in the school’s history.
Surpassing our Fund-A-Need goal, nearly $50,000 was raised Saturday night, achieving a new level of support. Dr. Dave Mueckl, Archdiocese of St. Louis COO, surprised guests with a personal message from Archbishop Robert J. Carlson announcing his special gift of $100,000 for the science renovation. It was the highlight of the night!
Kennedy has currently raised over $150,000 toward the first phase of the renovation, a complete remodeling of our Chemistry lab, which will cost $175,000. Construction is expected to begin in May 2012. These improvements will provide better utilization of space in a 21st century learning environment with traditional and virtual labs.

"I am thrilled with the proposed renovations" said Steve Grasser, Department Chair at Kennedy. "I am hoping that these new labs ignite a love of science in even more Kennedy students. I was inspired to become a science teacher. I hope our department will continue to pass the torch to future generations of scientists."
