After seriously considering other schools, the SAU Fighting Bees won him over with their great coaching staff, fantastic athletic facilities, and beautiful campus. SAU boasts a bubble dome and a special work out facility exclusively for the football team. His parents, Khaldon and Annita Saffaf, are very proud of him and eager to see him play. Even though the Longhorns had a challenging season not only Mustafa but two other players were given football scholarships.Ryan DeMuri will play for Benedictine College and Quentin Key for Millikin University. Mustafa recognizes the guidance he received from head coach, Jeff Duncan, and lineman coaches Tom Haddox and Doug Newton has helped lead him to success. He wishes the Longhorns well and encourages those who want to play college ball to keep working hard. He is pictured with his father and paternal grandfather also named Mustafa Saffaf.
