Camp Westminster will be held at Westminster Christian Academy in Town & Country from June 4-29. It offers a variety of half- and full-day summer camps for boys and girls in grades kindergarten through 8th grade with a goal to provide an unforgettable camp experience for kids and to bless families in the St. Louis community. Extended Care is available in the morning and/or in the afternoon for a small additional charge.
Register, soon, though, as camps are filling up quickly, says Camp Coordinator Abby Karsten. “While there are loads of camps to choose from, we only have a limited number of spots in each one, and they are filling quickly,” says Karsten. “So all who are interested should register [at www.wcastl.org/campwestminster] as soon as possible!”

Head of School Jim Marsh says Camp Westminster illustrates Westminster’s ongoing vision to serve as an irreplaceable asset to the St. Louis community. “God has blessed us with a wonderful new campus that we want to put to excellent use seven days a week, 365 days a year,” says Marsh. “Our desire is to welcome the community onto our campus.”

This year’s camp offers a variety of new exciting options for campers, including full- and half-day options, according to Camp Coordinator and Westminster teacher Abby Karsten. “The fact that Camp Westminster offers so many specialty camps that fit kids’ specific interests and that are taught by teachers and coaches who share that interest, makes this camp experience truly unique.”
Camp Westminster will offer a wide range of sports camps in addition to non-athletic camps, as well as offer a variety of new camps for summer 2012, including a culinary camp, musical theatre, movie-making, sculpture art and basketball with former NBA and Mizzou basketball star Steve Stipanovich.
Karsten emphasizes that the camp’s highly qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic instructors, most of whom are Westminster teachers and coaches, set Camp Westminster apart from others in St. Louis. “These individuals are truly passionate about what they do, as is evident in their everyday lives – both during and outside of the school day,” says Karsten. “Their enthusiasm for their sport or activity is contagious, and they are wonderful mentors,” she says.
After great days of making movies, rattling funny bones in improv theatre, or soaking up the best baseball tips from former St. Louis Cardinal Andy Benes, campers will be bursting with excitement to come back for more! “It truly is the place for kids who want an ultra-fun, unforgettable summer camp experience,” says Karsten. “Parents will be encouraged to know that while their kids are having a great time with people who care about them, they will also be enjoying an enriching experience that will hopefully grow their interests and teach them new things. There’s a new adventure every day!”
