Senior Olympics Documentary Screening in St. Louis

The Olympic spirit is coming to St. Louis with a free showing of the award-winning documentary Age of Champions.

Age of Champions tells the story of five competitors who sprint, leap, and swim for gold at the National Senior Olympics. You’ll meet a 100-year-old tennis champion, 86-year-old pole vaulter, and rough-and-tumble basketball grandmothers as they discover the power of the human spirit and triumph over the limitations of age.

In addition to the St. Louis premiere screening, AARP Missouri will host a Q&A with the film’s director and 84-year-old swimmer Bill Cannon who has earned over 2,000 metals in the Senior Games! Also, AARP Missouri will lead a You’ve Earned a Say community conversation about Medicare and Social Security. To wrap up the event, the Missouri Senior Games will honor all local senior athletes, who will attend the event in uniform and wearing their medals.

Age of Champions will be playing Thursday, October 18th at 6pm at the Jewish Community Center, Creve Coeur, host of the St. Louis Senior Olympics for 33 years. Watch the trailer and RSVP for free tickets at www.ageofchampions.org/MO.
