Westminster Alumnus Steve Lauer Named Director of Development

has named alumnus Steve Lauer (’89) as director of development, effective August 1. Lauer will cultivate relationships with alumni, parents and donors who are passionate about Christian education and the vision of Westminster.

Lauer says he looks forward to serving a great cause in his new position. “I’m excited to help advance the school in its vision to equip young men and women to engage the world and change it for Christ – regionally, nationally, and globally,” says Lauer.

Lauer brings more than 20 years of business, communications, and development experience to this new position from his tenure at WorkNet Communications (Kansas City, Mo.), Nortel Networks (Kansas City, Mo.), US Net (Clayton, Mo.), Historic Floor Company (Saint Louis).

Lauer and his wife Angie live in St. Louis and have three sons (17, 15, and 12) who attend Westminster, and a daughter (8). As an alumnus, Lauer says he hopes his children will experience the same transformational education that he did as a student at Westminster.

"I think it is absolutely necessary for today’s kids to have positive Christian role models – like the teachers at Westminster – during their high school years,” says Lauer. “In my role, I hope to reach out to alumni – specifically those from my generation – to help them understand the impact that a Westminster education has on kids the same ages as our own, in turn encouraging a broader base of individuals to invest in the vision of Westminster."
