Community Corner

Westminster students work together to make a difference in the community

Westminster Christian Academy students devoted themselves to making a difference in the community through participation in the school’s annual “In The Spirit Of Giving” (ITSOG) campaign. Each year during this week of giving, students are asked to give items and funds to bless those in need. Items collected included spare change, gently used shoes, food, cleaning supplies, baby items, toiletries, and kids pajamas and toys to help individuals who benefit from the services of local organizations.

Some of these organizations include Bhogpur Children’s Home, which cares for, educates, and nurtures underprivileged children, especially from leprosy-affected communities; Shoeman Water Projects, which collects and exports gently used shoes to roadside shoe vendors in Kenya, South America, and Haiti; Isaiah 58 Ministries, which meets the needs of low-income individuals in St. Louis; Room at the Inn, a temporary emergency shelter for homeless women and families; One Heart Family Ministries, which recruits and assists in training and supporting Christian families who foster and adopt kids from Missouri’s foster care system; and Sunshine Ministries, committed to providing high-quality, Christian social services to the poor and needy of St. Louis.
