Town & Country – Westminster Christian Academy has officially registered for the 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition in St. Louis after receiving a $6,500 grant.
FIRST seeks to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
In this competition, in addition to building a robot, Westminster students must demonstrate excellence in web design, graphic arts, marketing, project management, computer aided design and engineering design and construction. The event begins on January 7 and lasts six weeks. The school will compete against high school teams from around the United States and world.
